Upstream problems behave according to structure, not narrative, and this is where descriptive language reaches its limit. When teams rely on description alone, they see symptoms rather than configuration. Upstream clarity requires understanding how the problem is organized internally, not how it appears on the surface. This article explains why upstream accuracy depends on visual representation rather than description and why structural visibility is essential before any visual diagnostic work can begin.


How Description Flattens Complexity


Description reduces multi-dimensional problems into linear statements. It collapses architecture into fragments.
